Goodbye, butterflies! 🦋 Safe travels!
This week we continued working on writing good sentences. In fact, we took down our year-long Say a Story photos and recycled them as writing prompts. It’s pretty amazing to think that in the beginning of the year I was happy if the kids could share a complete sentence about each photo orally, and now they are writing them independently, punctuation and all!

On M Day we began our end of the year Memory Books! Stay tuned because the kids have put a lot of care into each page of their books. They’ll come home soon!

We love Number Blocks! Did you know we have watched one 4 minute episode of Number Blocks almost each day of kindergarten? I love them because it teaches kids number sense and the concept of 10s and 1s in a really playful, concrete, and memorable way through stories and songs. Each number, 1-20, has his or her own story and personality. If you’ve never seen Number Blocks, you can find them on YouTube, but I prefer accessing them through the Number Blocks website because you can see all the episodes in order from least complex to most complex.

O is for Once upon a time. On O day, we took our Reader’s Theaters to the big stage and read them with the rest of the class as our audience. I’m so proud of how fluent and confident each child was as they read.

Pajama Day and stuffy sleepover was Thursday! In true sleepover style, we even ordered pizza for a snack! 🍕

After a day of hanging out and learning with our stuffies, we found cozy places around the room and tucked them in. But when we returned in the morning, we found out that they were up all night playing in the classroom!

Shhhhhhh. After this week’s fun, Quiet day is just what we needed!
Have a great weekend!
