Seasons greetings! This week in kindergarten we tried to keep things calm and curriculum oriented the first half of the week… and it worked! The kids were focused and happy to work on writing their numbers to 20. (We even did it on holiday lights below.)

We are just working out some of the kinks, such as the correct way to write 20 and 12. Once students can write fluently and without mistake to 20, they are almost ready to go all the way to 100!

We wrote sentences with capitals, spaces, and periods. After the break, sentence writing will really take off. I can’t believe how far they have come already!
On Thursday we rotated between all three kindergarten rooms and in our room, the kids learned the lyrics to Must be Santa! We made bracelets (that came home Thursday) where each bead stood for a line in the song. The following paper with the words and a QR code to a recording of the song, is in their folders:

To wrap up a fun day, we walked around the school and caroled in all the pods!
On Friday, we used pinchers to build these fancy trees, experimented with magnets and jingle bells, and built holiday shapes with pattern blocks.

Thanks again to everyone who helped make our Holiday Party so wonderful. The kids had such a fun and festive time. Check out some photos!

Have a restful break, and I’ll see you in 2025!
