Our first week of kindergarten was full of stories, songs, dancing, playing, and making new friends!

Here are some questions you can ask your child about our week:

• What are the names of the classroom puppet friends we met this week? (Lulu, Mama Echo, and Baby Echo)

• What is the very first lowercase letter you learned the name, sound, and how to write this week? (t)

• Can you remember the poem for writing any of the first five numbers?

Top to bottom, then you're done. That's the way you make a one.

Make a candy cane then add a shoe. That's the way you make a two.

Around a tree, around a tree. That's the way you make a three.

Slide down the side. Cross in the middle for fun. Top to bottom, now you're done! (4)

Slide down the side, make a belly like that. Back to the top and add a hat. (5)

The other teachers and I are so amazed at the way the children are interacting and being creative during our nature play time, LEAP. (Learning Expanded Through Active Play) We are really looking forward to continuing to grow the children's experiences outside as we move through the year.

There is no school on Monday, September 2nd. I'll see the kids on Tuesday the 3rd! Check the snack calendar to see if your child will share a snack that week. Show and Tell will be Friday September 6th!
