Hi families! I hope you’re enjoying the beautiful weather as much as we are here at school! ☀️ Last week, we celebrated spring with a play dough activity (above), an adorable bird’s nest art project (below), and a spring symmetry pattern block challenge.

In ELA we have been focusing on building grammatically and phonetically accurate sentences that have spaces between words and are easy to read. The kiddos have come so far; they are all capable of writing complete, readable sentences now. We use Super Sentence girl to help us study sentences and decide whether they have everything a good sentence needs. If our sentences are missing a part… she is also missing a part!

In math we have been focusing on subtraction by using concrete stories or pictures and tools such as counting beads, beans, drawings, and our fingers.

All week we read books and engaged with science content around Earth Day and conservation. We learned the words to two songs so far. Tap to listen and ask your child to sing along!

We have been outside every chance we can get. 3-5th grade’s PSSA testing changes our schedule a little, so we have been squeezing in extra or longer LEAP times in order to take a break from being quiet inside. (Pictured below-

So many “meals” being made at LEAP lately!)

Here’s to many more warm play-outside days!
